The Train Keeps on Rollin’
Well, the epic storm that crushed Denver did the old wrap-around on us over the weekend bringing 40-50 mph sustained winds and about 10″ of new snow yesterday. Another 5″ of new snow today is making for some outstanding backcountry conditions and the Cats enjoyed the freshness and quality of the snow we have to play in.
It is looking like another couple of days of clouds and chances of snow, nothing big, but anytime we have a chance of snow in March we are so stoked. We have cats open all week and into next weekend for anyone looking to still make a powder day happen with us. We’d love to have you, and you know you deserve another epic powder day before this season is all over. Another storm is brewing for this weekend also, just saying.
Speaking of being over, do you remember last year today? Life as we knew it shifted dramatically for us as we ran our last tour of the season one year ago to date. COVID came in hot, like the March sun on a south-facing aspect, shutting down all things in our worlds. What a year it has been since then. We are certainly blessed here at SPC to have been able to make things work and keep on getting on this season.
With our closing day coming on March 27th, we are so happy that the weather is looking nice and wintery for us, and the global pandemic is on this side of the dial instead of last year’s.
