Oh, Baby! This morning we got the Steamboat Special, that super duper uber fluff, or as Mike Rakowski calls it, "Fluffy Bunny."
Two months are already in the books and we are in the heart of peak season! No empty seats, lots of private snowcats, backcountry tours, and a bunch of stoked guests!

Catskiing comes with its complications. We're lucky to have the resources to keep our guests skiing when those situations arise. Calvin is the name of our road building cat. Calvin doesn't get to come skiing with us but every once in a while, He gets to come out and play.
Big shoutout to one of our Founding Fathers and first American President, General George Washington!! We can also throw "Honest Abe"...These two dudes probably didn't do much skiing but they sure knew how to run an infantile country.
We loaded up with extra warm layers and mid-day hot drinks in preparation for the blustering weather but were happily surprised when the storm clouds broke and the sun provided some much-needed visibility!!
Guess what!? MORE SNOW and I'll tell you, the conditions were primo. The temperatures finally dropped overnight which, being the main ingredient for Champagne Powder, produced approximately 8 fluffy inches by the time we checked the snow stake this morning.
Shew-wee!! Twenty-Four inches of fresh snow in the last two days has kept us skiing our favorite lines as they got filled back in overnight. It may only be my second winter here in the fairyland town of Steamboat but compared to last year this time, it is a world of difference as it actually feels like winter!
