Greg Creamer – Backcounty Snowcat Ski Guide
Greg’s first season was with Powdercats during the 20/21 season where he guided some of our backcountry ski tours. In 21/22, Greg moved to also become a snowcat guide.
As a Colorado native Greg took to skiing at a young age. On his first day as a member of the Eskimo Ski Club at Winter Park, his older buddies convinced him to ditch the lessons and go free skiing over at Mary Jane. So, week after week and year after year he and his friends ditched the lessons and learned to ski by going for it on the big bump and tree runs at Mary Jane and by building jumps and dropping cliffs far away from the follow the leader lessons all the other kids were stuck in.
In 2007 Greg and his wife, Libby, moved to Steamboat from Boulder with their three young kids and now live on a small ranch on the Elk River with their many cats, dogs, horses and alpacas. Prior to joining Powdercats in 2021, Greg was a ski instructor at Steamboat Resort. In the summer months, Greg is a fly fishing guide. After running the fishing program for an Orvis lodge for 6 years, he started his own company, Freestone Anglers in 2020. Freestone boasts exclusive rights to a mile of private access on the coveted Elk River just north of Steamboat Springs. Beyond his passion for fly fishing and skiing, he is an avid equestrian, and hiker.
