Where to stay in Steamboat Springs
There are countless lodging providers for you to choose from in the Steamboat Springs area. With over 4,000 rental units available it can be daunting, so where to begin? Just Google Steamboat Springs Lodging and you’ll find multiple resort companies, VRBO listings and hotel complexes all working to dial you in.
When considering where to stay you must first understand that here in Steamboat Springs there are a few distinct locations: on the mountain (ski-in-ski-out or ski area base), mid-valley, and then in downtown Steamboat Springs. Most lodging providers have complementary shuttles to get you to and from most locations. Downtown is located only 5-minute drive from the mountain so getting around is easy. There are also a couple larger transportation companies in Steamboat Springs (Ski Town Transportation and Storm Mountain Express), plus Uber to help get you to and from wherever you need to be
Best of all, the City of Steamboat Springs offers a free bus that is super convenient and mostly on time. Check out the schedule here if needed.
Since you are probably coming for a visit with Steamboat Powdercats, among other things, don’t sweat it as we will dial you in wherever you stay. During the day with us as we provide a van service to and from your lodging before and after your tour so we will get you to our office. You can also walk here or drive yourself and park in our parking lot though this lot is a paid lot and it’s around $70 additional for the day. Our office is conveniently located “on the mountain” in the Clock Tower Square. This location is just north of the Gondola across the street from the Steamboat Grand and the Sheraton. We are also within walking distance of other “on mountain” lodging providers like the Torian Plum, One Steamboat Place and the Ski Time Square Condo’s. The closest location to our office are the Clock Tower Penthouses that are literally just above us in our Clock Tower Square building.
These are just a few of the dozens or so “on mountain” locations that are considered ski in and ski out, located at the base of the Steamboat Ski area. Of course these locations will be the most expensive as there is a premium for such quick assess to the slopes. We understand that not everyone has a crazy budget and you’ll be saving and spending all your money for your days here at Steamboat Powdercats. Our favorite low budget, crash for the night, no frills but plenty adequate lodging options are Holiday Inn or the Rabbit Ears Motel.
